Updates: Turo partners with Wayne County Airport Authority, expanding mobility options in Michigan
Thanks Wayne County Airport Authority!
Turo, the world's leading peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace, today announced that starting Friday, July 1, 2022, guests will have designated areas to receive their car reservations at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), allowing for expedited and easy access to their drive upon arrival.
On June 15, the Wayne County Airport Authority unanimously voted in favor of the Turo partnership, the first of its kind in the state of Michigan. Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, trusted Turo hosts are offering hundreds of unique options for guests looking to pick up a vehicle after a flight into DTW. The partnership between Wayne County and Turo means newly permitted parking, pickup, and drop-off locations at DTW for Turo hosts and guests.
“We are thrilled Wayne County Airport officials voted unanimously to help meet consumer demand in Detroit with this first-in-the-state partnership,” said Turo CEO Andre Haddad. “Peer-to-peer car sharing not only provides travelers with more options for booking a car, but also gives locals in Michigan the opportunity to turn their own vehicle into an earnings engine.”
Turo pickups and returns that occur at DTW are designated to the following property locations:
-
Short-term vehicle parking/exchanges: McNamara Parking Garage and the Big Blue Deck
-
Long-term vehicle parking/exchanges: McNamara Parking Garage, the Big Blue Deck and Green Lots
Turo has grown over the past 10 years to become the world’s leading car sharing marketplace, spanning over 8,000 cities, with over 2 million active guests and 217,000 active vehicles on the platform as of March 31, 2022.
